Rachel Turner is a young, idealistic med student who has given her life to science, much like her father before her. Richard Turner put Proficio University on the map but his obsession with his work might have cost him his life.

Rachel cannot move past her father's tragic death. She must discover the secret of his life's work and complete it if she is to rid herself of the nightmares that plague her.

Caelum, one of the volunteer test subjects at the university, is interested in Rachel but she is too busy pursuing her ambitions to have anything to do with him. However, her aspirations are put on hold when he becomes deathly ill.

Professor Harrison believes a bacterial infection is making students sick, threatening to put an end to the university’s corporate funding. Detective Campbell, however, believes the victims tell a different story.

And something is using the sewers to hunt down, attack and kill people.

Rachel must overcome her fears to uncover the secret that has spawned this creature. She must do so to save Caelum, and she must do so to confront a nightmarish legacy that only she can stop.
